Drivers and Tangents

I imagine a not so small ball speeding towards a direction.

It keeps speeding till it meets another something which either diverts its direction, slows it or stops it!

It could also be hit by another 'Thingy' which could enforce its speed or direction or both.

Whichever way (if you were also to imagine) you would agree that the first 'not so small ball' has either been pushed or has some internal Driver mechanism!

I think we as humans are also a bit similar.

We usually start off in a direction with a certain speed. Now if you notice in our case this starting speed and direction is usually not really decided by us.( usually)

It is governed by the initial knowledge ( read perception) pumped in by the immediate surroundings and the push by our near and dear ones and (OR) people who we have trust on.

Then with time come the tangents!
These are new sources of information ( direction) and force or impacts or pushes. Our new modified drivers.

Without even going into directions of relatively negative drivers and inhibitors, I want ask something.

How, in this very fast changing world with a exponential tangents and drivers, should we decide our direction and speed.

After all, all the initial and subsequent drivers and tangents are relative in nature and there is no absolute correct or right of wrong. Or is it?

Nice analogy you have come up with. Get a speedometer. ;)

Thanks for dropping by my blog. Keep visiting.

Well, that's true, nothing is really right, nothing is really wrong. You follow your heart and instincts at a given time while taking the decision. At a later date, if in a similar situation, you might not take the same decision. It is like "Learning". You take some decisions - see how things turn out when you take decisions in favor of, say, career over family, then, based on how things turn out for you, you'd base your future decisions. Kind of - Once bitten, twice shy. Like the Tenali Raman cat :)

The 23-32 project sounds intereting. What's the status update on that?

Great post, Abhishek.

Well, life direction has to change according to the encounters and experiences. There can be no straight, unencumbered path.
I guess life has the right amount of speed for a particular journey. But often we as human tend to either override it or travel too slow in it. Thats the beauty of our imperfections. The strength about life is. It does not leave us like this. But it prunes us to get us to work towards the best or better speed towards the destination. My feel on the subject.

Interesting.

CheerS!

well whatever happens we are all going to reach the same place....and the speed is proper to get us there when we should :)

Gee tks

oh gawd!!
@ Bastet:
yes very well..

and oh the TR cat!!
gosh u hv a gr8 memory!
Project is facing what it faces usually!!

( delays)
;)
@ Jas:
Yes, but the question here is that do u have a driver strong enough to make a new direction or not let a modifier change ur direction?

and ru right in doing so?
@ Sweetstickychewy :
Well ur take is also intresting!
@ VIshesh:
RU sure
is everything pre-destined
and there is no free will???

Abhishek, thats where the "experience" comes in. You may have to modify your path, but it does not necessarily mean changing your life goals.
Am I making any sense?

Interesting post. The minute I read this post, 2 things popped in my mind.

1. Lyrics of the song "One" by U2

Is it getting better
Or do you feel the same
Will it make it easier on you now
You got someone to blame
You say...

One love
One life
When it's one need
In the night
One love
We get to share it
Leaves you baby if you
Don't care for it

Did I disappoint you
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth
You act like you never had love
And you want me to go without
Well it's...

Too late
Tonight
To drag the past out into the light
We're one, but we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other
One...
Have you come here for forgiveness
Have you come to raise the dead
Have you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head

Did I ask too much
More than a lot
You gave me nothing
Now it's all I got
We're one
But we're not the same
Well we
Hurt each other
Then we do it again
You say
Love is a temple
Love a higher law
Love is a temple
Love the higher law
You ask me to enter
But then you make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
To what you got
When all you got is hurt
One love
One blood
One life
You got to do what you should
One life
With each other
Sisters
Brothers
One life
But we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other

One...life

One

and 2. The book I read in Chandigarh at 51C/44A - "One" by Richard Bach.

I only remember the analogy to your post that whichever path (in your case direction = driver + tangent = new direction) one takes and there can be infinite paths each instant, they all reach the same goal. Irrespective of the drivers / tangents / direction / speed. What say you??

How interestingly you intertwined two different yet not so different things - a rolling ball and the life of a human being! Very interesting!
phew!!! u come back to blogging after ages and delve straight into life's dilemmas..........:)
@ jas:
well you do make some sense...
BUt i feel u might have missed the flow of my though then.

what i mean is that ..there are so many times.. when u have to decide? but you really dunno

also there is no absoluteness in life ...
:)

Life

Yeah even when u think all fits, you notice quite a few things dont. The latest curveball my boss threw during the appraisal, threw me in a spin. Why am I feeling again that I am not supposed to be in this job? And If I am not then,...what? Should I also move out of the city!!.. what to do..!! shoudl not spend a lot of time in putting the puzzle pieces, Maybe life is more of living the puzzle than making all the sense, maybe its someone else's job!!

This Day Then

Nervously along with my cousin sister, brother and along with some unknown people we were at this balcony looking across the Powai Lake. And this effervescent girl is also noticed around. Bright , bespectacled, with a pony-tail bobbing and wearing a bright kurta and jeans/capris. Before anyone could talk, The Teacher ushered us into what was a makeshift classroom. It was the house of one of uncles. The hall which had the balcony had durries spread across its length, with the Glass Dining table pushed in the the corner, the chairs laid around the walls. We were on the third day of the five day Art of Living program being organised at the house of one of the volunteers. All through the brief exercises of Yoga and discussions, apart from exchanging smirks with my cousins, I could not help notice the presence of the girl. At the end of the class, there was brief community snack/ dinner organised. It was late evening by the end of the class and amazing wind was ruffling in the balcony. I s
